Engineer - Electrical

About the Role

This Engineer - Electrical role involves working on electrical services designs from feasibility stage to detailed design stage, covering low voltage distribution systems, lighting calculations, and technical writing skills. The ideal candidate will have a working understanding of latest electrical design software packages and be able to collaborate with other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical services designs from feasibility stage to detailed design stage (i.e. RIBA Stage 4)
• Develop electrical design layouts and LV single line diagrams in AutoCAD
• Conduct low voltage distribution system designs, including cable calculations and distribution board schedules
• Design and implement lighting systems, including lighting calculations and fixture selection
• Develop technical reports and documents, including feasibility reports and design reports
• Collaborate with other disciplines, including mechanical engineers, architects, and civil and structural engineers
• Conduct technical reviews of contractor's submissions and analyze data to inform design decisions

Skills & Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team
• Experience in electrical engineering design on capital projects
• Experience of motor controls, including variable speed drives
• Working knowledge of electrical design software packages, including Amtech/Trimble Pro-Design, Relux/Dialux, and Revit MEP
• Ability to develop electrical design layouts and LV single line diagrams in AutoCAD
• Technical writing skills, including the ability to develop technical reports and documents
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and inform design decisions
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
