Backend Engineer

About the Role

As a Backend Engineer at Weekday AI, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic, database integration, and API connectivity of our software applications. You will work closely with the development team to ensure seamless integration of features and high-quality code. Your primary focus will be on building scalable, efficient, and secure backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy high-quality backend systems using Python and relevant frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to ensure seamless data exchange between systems.
• Implement and optimize database schema to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements to the team.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in Python programming language and relevant frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
• Strong understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience with Git.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and experience with API design.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
