Quality Control Engineer

About the Role

As a Quality Control Engineer at Ultratech Cement, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials and concrete at the company's plants. This involves conducting regular quality checks, collaborating with third-party testing services, and implementing corrective and preventive actions based on customer feedback.

Your day-to-day tasks will include checking the quality of raw materials, conducting product testing, and maintaining quality records on Labsys. You will also be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of quality control labs and collaborating with production teams to implement moisture corrections during production.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials and concrete to ensure adherence to desired standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with third-party testing services for cube testing as and when required.
• Maintain quality records on Labsys and update records related to calibration of testing equipment.
• Ensure the upkeep of quality control labs with proper product display and availability of relevant BIS codes.
• Implement moisture corrections during production to ensure workability and cohesiveness of concrete.
• Monitor the right dosage/admixtures at batching plants during production.
• Conduct trials for performance/dosage of different admixtures, special materials, and routine products to ensure quality parameters are met.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of BIS codes and their application in quality control.
• Proficiency in using LabSys for quality record-keeping and calibration of testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with production teams.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
