Mobile Engineer - React Native (Internship)

About the Role

As a React Native engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining high‑performance mobile applications that run on both Android and iOS. Your day‑to‑day work will involve translating design mockups into pixel‑perfect screens, writing reusable components, and ensuring smooth animations and interactions. You’ll also collaborate closely with product and design teams to iterate quickly on new features.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new screens and features from scratch using React Native, TypeScript, and modern state‑management libraries.
• Implement native modules or bridge existing Android/iOS code to expose platform‑specific functionality.
• Write unit and integration tests, enforce code quality through linting and code reviews.
• Optimize app performance by profiling, reducing bundle size, and implementing efficient animations.
• Integrate third‑party services such as push notifications, analytics, and ad SDKs.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to consume REST/GraphQL APIs and handle data persistence with SQLite or Realm.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives to keep the team aligned and agile.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 4+ months of internship or project experience building production‑ready React Native apps.
• Strong grasp of JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals, SOLID principles, and functional programming patterns.
• Experience with native Android development (Java/Kotlin) and writing custom bridges.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases and basic security practices.
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices, responsive layouts, and animation libraries like Reanimated or Lottie.
• Comfortable using version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing tools.
