PHD Graduate Student (Electrochemistry)

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site PhD Graduate Student role in Electrochemistry based at SRM University-AP's campus in Vijayawada.

Responsibilities

• Carry out experimental and/or computational research in electrochemistry under the guidance of a faculty supervisor.
• Design experiments, prepare materials or electrodes, and perform electrochemical measurements.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data; maintain accurate laboratory records; and ensure safe operation of laboratory equipment.
• Review scientific literature, contribute to manuscript preparation, and present research in group meetings and conferences.
• Support related departmental research activities and participate in coursework as required.

What You'll Need

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Strong foundational knowledge of electrochemistry principles, including redox processes, electrode kinetics, and electrochemical characterization techniques.
• Hands-on experience in a research laboratory, including preparation of chemical solutions, safe handling of chemicals, and operation of basic analytical or electrochemical instruments.
• Competence in research methods, including designing experiments, systematic data collection, and quantitative or qualitative data analysis.
• Ability to conduct literature surveys, critically evaluate scientific articles, and synthesize findings to support the development of research hypotheses.
• Proficiency in scientific writing and presentation, including preparation of reports, theses, and conference or journal manuscripts.
• Basic familiarity with data analysis tools and software (such as Origin, MATLAB, Python, or similar) for processing and visualizing experimental results.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail in both experimental and computational work.
