About the Role

As an Accounts Assistant at SML Finance, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with the finance team to analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and provide insights to support business decisions. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation of the microfinance department's accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting documents.
• Prepare and review financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform reconciliations of accounts, including bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including the finance team and other departments.
• Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned by the finance team.

Skills & Qualifications

• BCom degree from a recognized university.
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Tally or QuickBooks.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
