Backend Engineer Intern

About the Role

As a Backend Engineering Intern at Six Sense, you'll be working on building scalable backend systems that power the company's AI platform. This involves collaborating with experienced engineers and technical leaders to design and develop high-performance backend applications, APIs, and services.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, working closely with senior engineers on production systems, and contributing to the development of products used by global semiconductor manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, low-latency, high-performance backend applications.
• Work closely with senior engineers on production systems to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern software engineering practices.
• Collaborate across teams to solve real customer problems and contribute to the development of products used by global semiconductor manufacturers.
• Learn modern software engineering practices in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Develop and maintain backend APIs and services using the Django framework.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Hands-on experience with the Django framework.
• Excellent Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA) knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and backend development principles.
• Good to have: knowledge of relational databases and database design fundamentals, exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, understanding of deployment pipelines and infrastructure.
• Preferred qualifications: prior internship experience at a product-based company.
