Job Summary The Materials & Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities while ensuring timely availability of materials. The role focuses on optimizing inventory levels, improving production efficiency, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Planning & Scheduling Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on demand forecasts and customer orders Create and manage production schedules to ensure optimal utilization of manpower and machines Coordinate with shop floor teams to execute plans effectively Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed 2. Material Planning Plan and ensure availability of raw materials, components, and consumables Generate Material Requirement Plans (MRP) based on production schedules Coordinate with procurement for timely material availability Track shortages and proactively mitigate risks 3. Inventory Management Maintain optimal inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG) Monitor slow-moving and excess inventory Implement inventory control strategies to reduce carrying cost Ensure accuracy of inventory records in ERP systems 4. Coordination & Communication Liaise with Procurement, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams Align production plans with supply constraints and customer priorities Communicate changes in demand or delays to stakeholders 5. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze demand vs production capacity Prepare production and inventory reports Track KPIs such as: On-Time Delivery (OTD) Inventory Turns Plan Adherence Material Availability 6. Continuous Improvement Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements Support lean manufacturing initiatives Improve planning accuracy and reduce lead time
