Quality Control Engineer

About the Role

The Quality Control Engineer will oversee the inspection and verification of automotive components and assemblies at the Chakan facility, ensuring high-quality output and reliable delivery for customers.

This role involves collaborating with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to identify root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and maintain quality standards.

Regular reporting, participation in internal audits, and training operators on quality requirements are also part of the day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of automotive components and assemblies.
• Monitor production quality at various stages to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
• Document test results and nonconformities, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and update quality control plans and procedures as needed.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and relevant industry standards, including ISO/TS or IATF-related quality systems.
• Participate in internal audits and training operators on quality requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
• Experience in inspection methods and quality tools.
• Analytical Skills and Quality Management capabilities.
• Effective Communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• ITI, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Production Engineering or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes, measurement instruments, and basic statistical quality techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications and apply them in inspection activities.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to work on-site in a fast-paced production environment.
• Knowledge of ISO/TS or IATF-related quality systems is an advantage.
