About the Role

As an Application Security Intern at Rubrik Application Security, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our applications. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Application Security team in conducting secure code and design reviews, identifying security vulnerabilities, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to fix issues.

Day-to-day, you will work closely with the team to support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework and security tooling, and learn modern application-security tools, methods, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Application Security team in conducting secure code and design reviews to ensure the security and integrity of our applications.
• Help identify, triage, and document security vulnerabilities to ensure timely resolution and minimize risk.
• Support the implementation of the SDLC framework and security tooling to ensure seamless integration with product and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to fix identified security issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Learn and stay up-to-date with modern application-security tools, methods, and best practices to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to the development of secure coding practices and guidelines to promote a culture of security within the organization.
• Participate in security-related projects and initiatives to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the growth of the organization.

Skills & Qualifications

• Cybersecurity fundamentals and principles.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and security tooling.
• Basic knowledge of Express.js and its application in web development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and document security vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as OWASP and NIST.
