DevOps Engineer

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer at PriceSenz, you will be responsible for owning the pipeline that gets code from a developer's laptop to production, ensuring seamless deployment without any issues. You will work on building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, containerizing applications with Docker, and provisioning and monitoring AWS infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for efficient deployment of applications.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage deployments across environments to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Provision and monitor AWS infrastructure, including EC2, ECS, S3, and CloudFront, to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Debug production issues under real deadlines, focusing on root causes rather than symptoms, to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality services.
• Automate manual tasks to reduce workload and increase efficiency, freeing up time for strategic initiatives.
• Document systems clearly, enabling seamless handover and knowledge transfer to other team members.

Skills & Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in DevOps or a related field, or a strong personal project history demonstrating ability to ship software.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Git, and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Understanding of how containers and cloud infrastructure fit together, with experience in Docker, AWS, or GitHub Actions.
• Comfort reading logs, tracing failures, and fixing root causes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js or Next.js environments.
• A GitHub profile with real commits, not tutorials.
