About the Role
As a Java Software Engineer at Oracle, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications using Java programming language. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration of software components.
Day-to-day tasks will include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting issues that arise during testing and deployment. You will also be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Java and related technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve existing software applications and develop new ones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software applications using Java programming language.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, following Oracle's coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing and deployment, and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Java and related technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve existing software applications and develop new ones.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration of software components.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Java programming language and its ecosystem.
- Experience with Oracle DB and its integration with Java applications.
- Proficiency in design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Good understanding of software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
