About the Role

As an Associate AI/ML Engineer at Optum, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and AI solutions in production environments. You will work with large datasets, implement machine learning algorithms using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools, and collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate AI capabilities into applications and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions in production environments.
• Work with large datasets, including data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering.
• Implement machine learning algorithms using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate AI capabilities into applications and systems.
• Monitor, evaluate, and optimize models for accuracy, scalability, and performance.
• Apply AI techniques such as NLP, computer vision, or deep learning based on business use cases.
• Document experiments, model configurations, and deployment processes.

Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience building end-to-end ML pipelines (data → model → deployment).
• Experience in domain-specific applications such as healthcare, customer service, or automation.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices (CI/CD, model monitoring, versioning).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Understanding of Responsible AI principles, including fairness, bias mitigation, and model explainability.
• Proven exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, or deep learning techniques.
• Machine Learning, Deep Learning, GCP, AWS, Azure, CI/CD, NLP, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Generative AI, Recruitment, LLMs, Computer Vision, MLOps, Data Structures & Algorithms.
