About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity for a fresher to join a dynamic team and contribute to governance and policy reforms in India. As an Associate in Governance, you will be responsible for supporting research, analysis, and policy development initiatives, with a focus on state and national manifestos and policy recommendations.

You will work closely with team members to implement governance reforms, evaluate policy initiatives, and contribute to actionable recommendations that advance the team's mission. This role requires keen analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for public sector impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research and analysis for governance and policy reform initiatives
  • Contribute to drafting policy documents, manifestos, and recommendations under supervision
  • Assist in preparing presentations, briefs, and analysis summaries for both internal and external audiences
  • Keep abreast of political, regulatory, and programmatic developments; introduce best practices and innovations to team processes
  • Collaborate with leadership and functional teams to align governance reforms with broader strategic goals and facilitate effective implementation
  • Manage governance projects and cross-functional teams, monitor progress, troubleshoot risks, and drive timely execution of key initiatives
  • Engage with government bodies, civil society, and local stakeholders; travel as necessary to support policy rollout and validate impact on the ground

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum degree from a Tier 1 or 2 academic institution in Social Sciences, Law, Engineering, or related fields
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to travel if needed
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment
  • Native or professional proficiency in Bengali (both written and spoken) will be a significant advantage
  • Strong analytical mindset to identify challenges and propose effective solutions within complex political and governance frameworks
  • Foundational understanding of Indian policy systems, political dynamics, and development frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing detailed reports, policy briefs, and presentations tailored to diverse stakeholders
