About the Role

As a Research Scientist – Electrochemical Biosensors at mimyk, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative technologies to make medical procedures safer, more efficient, and simpler. Your primary focus will be on designing, fabricating, and optimizing electrochemical sensing platforms for biomedical and wearable applications.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate laboratory-scale concepts into reliable, reproducible, and application-ready devices. This role requires a strong understanding of electrochemistry, biosensors, and materials science, as well as excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize electrochemical biosensors for clinically relevant biomarkers.
  • Functionalize electrodes using enzymes, polymers, redox mediators, nanomaterials, and related materials.
  • Perform electrochemical characterization using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, impedance spectroscopy, and related techniques.
  • Evaluate sensitivity, selectivity, linear range, response time, reproducibility, and stability of electrochemical biosensors.
  • Integrate sensors with wearable and minimally invasive biomedical devices.
  • Optimize fabrication parameters, troubleshoot performance issues, maintain technical documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in electrochemistry, biosensors, electrode fabrication, or surface modification.
  • Experience with potentiostats, data analysis, and experimental troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of enzyme immobilization, nanomaterials, conductive polymers, hydrogels, screen-printed electrodes, or wearable sensors.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
