A Researcher-MSR at Microsoft Corp will be at the forefront of Computer Science research and technology development, working on meaningful research problems with world-class colleagues.

Day-to-day, this role involves dealing with open research problems, new ideas, and evolving directions, and playing different roles in the research effort as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research in AI/ML, including new models, scalable ML architectures, systems support for such workloads, and innovative large-scale applications of ML models.
• Work closely with other researchers, engineers, product teams, and internal/external partners to drive research toward impactful publications and influence industry trends.
• Take ownership of driving research projects and collaborate with team members to achieve research goals.
• Develop and maintain strong programming skills to drive end-to-end research and development from ideation to deployment.
• Communicate research findings effectively through publications, presentations, and collaborations with other researchers and industry partners.
• Mentor and lead interns and other team members to foster a culture of innovation and knowledge-sharing.

Skills & Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or related disciplines.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Knowledge of systems theory and ability to design and implement scalable systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
• A strong track record of innovation as evidenced by high-quality publications and impact.
