About the Role
As an Actuarial Intern at Mercer, you will be working closely with the Oliver Wyman team to analyze and develop actuarial models for life insurance products. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the valuation and analysis of life insurance policies, as well as contribute to the development and testing of actuarial models. You will also have the opportunity to work on client presentations and market research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the valuation and analysis of life insurance policies using actuarial models and data.
- Develop and test actuarial models to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Contribute to client presentations and market research projects to provide insights and recommendations.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and patterns in the life insurance market.
- Develop and maintain workflows to ensure efficient and effective data transformation and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in actuarial modeling and analysis.
Skills & Qualifications
- Actuarial science degree or related field (e.g. mathematics, statistics).
- Proficiency in actuarial software and tools (e.g. R, Python, Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Basic knowledge of financial reporting and data transformation principles.
