Transport Executive
About the Role
The Transport Operations Executive is responsible for managing all site-based transportation operations, ensuring efficient fleet management, driver coordination, and adherence to safety standards. This role reports directly to the Facility Manager and serves as the primary point of contact for all transportation-related activities at the facility. Key Responsibilities Fleet and Vehicle Management Oversee daily fleet operations including vehicle allocation, scheduling, and deployment to meet facility transportation requirements. Maintain comprehensive vehicle logs, service records, and inspection documentation. Coordinate regular maintenance schedules, repairs, and ensure all vehicles meet safety and regulatory compliance standards. Monitor vehicle utilization rates and recommend optimization strategies to improve efficiency. Driver Coordination and Supervision Manage driver schedules, shift rotations, and route assignments to ensure timely transportation services. Conduct regular driver briefings on safety protocols, route changes, and operational updates. Monitor driver performance, attendance, and compliance with company policies. Coordinate driver training programs and certification renewals as required. Transportation Planning and Execution Plan and execute daily transportation schedules for personnel, materials, and equipment movement across the facility. Respond to last-minute transportation requests and adjust schedules to accommodate changing operational needs. Ensure optimal routing to minimize delays and fuel consumption while meeting service level agreements. Safety and Compliance Management Implement and enforce transportation safety policies and procedures across all operations. Conduct regular vehicle safety inspections and ensure drivers follow safe operating practices. Maintain compliance with local traffic regulations, licensing requirements, and environmental standards. Investigate transportation-related incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Vendor and Contractor Coordination Liaise with external transportation vendors, fuel suppliers, and maintenance contractors to ensure quality service delivery. Negotiate service agreements and monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations. Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate records of all external transportation services. Documentation and Reporting Maintain comprehensive records of all transportation activities including trip logs, fuel consumption, maintenance records, and incident reports. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transportation reports for the Facility Manager highlighting key metrics, issues, and recommendations. Track transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Emergency Response Serve as the primary transportation coordinator during facility emergencies or contingency situations. Ensure backup transportation arrangements are in place and tested regularly. Coordinate with emergency services when required.
