Molding Jr. Engineer I

About the Role

The Molding Jr. Engineer I at Jabil supports the molding department by assisting with process optimization, troubleshooting, and maintaining molding operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in optimizing injection molding processes, including setting up parameters, monitoring runs, and collecting data.
• Participate in troubleshooting molding defects and identifying root causes, collaborating with production and quality teams.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of preventative maintenance programs for molding equipment.
• Conduct basic statistical analysis of process data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Assist in the documentation of molding processes, work instructions, and engineering changes.
• Learn and apply principles of design for manufacturability (DFM) related to molded components.
• Support new product introductions by assisting with mold trials and validation activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance to ensure efficient operations.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with injection molding processes and machinery is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of plastic materials and their properties.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Eagerness to learn and develop engineering skills in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
