Power BI Admin

About the Role

This Power BI Admin role involves managing and administering enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) platforms, ensuring seamless performance and security. You will be responsible for upgrading, patching, and enhancing these platforms, as well as monitoring usage and performance metrics.

You will work closely with various teams, including data engineering, security, and platform teams, to continuously improve the BI Tools ecosystem. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and SQL is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer enterprise BI platforms, including Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Sigma, and Metric Insights.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and platform enhancements to ensure seamless performance and security.
• Manage capacity planning and monitor usage/performance metrics for Premium/Embedded platforms.
• Implement data security models, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and role-based access.
• Manage user onboarding/offboarding and license allocation for BI platforms.
• Monitor platform health, capacity usage, and performance metrics, and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Provide L2/L3 support for Power BI users and business stakeholders, and troubleshoot issues related to reports, datasets, gateways, and access.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and familiarity with AWS/GCP.
• Knowledge of ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow, and experience with monitoring tools and platform analytics.
• Experience with deployment pipelines and CI/CD integrations for Power BI and Qlik.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Sigma, and Metric Insights.
• Experience with cloud networking best practices and security.
