Data Scientist

About the Role

As a Data Scientist at Infosys, you will be working on translating business goals into actionable data science problem statements, success metrics, and experiment plans. This role involves building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning and AI models using Python, ensuring they are performant, robust, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to define business goals and translate them into data science problem statements, success metrics, and experiment plans.
• Develop and deploy machine learning and AI models using Python, focusing on performance, robustness, and scalability.
• Design and implement NLP solutions such as text classification, entity extraction, topic modeling, semantic search, and summarization based on use case needs.
• Perform end-to-end data science workflows, including data collection, cleaning, feature engineering, model training, validation, and monitoring.
• Build and optimize NLP systems using modern approaches (e.g., embeddings, transformer-based models) and tailor them to domain needs.
• Design experiments, run A/B tests, and connect model improvements to measurable business outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven decision making.

Skills & Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python programming language, including experience with popular libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn.
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks.
• Experience with NLP techniques, including text classification, entity extraction, topic modeling, semantic search, and summarization.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement experiments, run A/B tests, and connect model improvements to measurable business outcomes.
