About the Role
As an Industrial Trainee in Controllership at Groww, you will be responsible for supporting the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.
This role will provide you with hands-on experience in financial reporting, accounting principles, and taxation knowledge, while also exposing you to the software industry's unique challenges and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct research on regulatory compliance and ensure that Groww meets all relevant financial reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to the finance team.
- Support the audit process by gathering and providing financial documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations, and ensure that Groww is in compliance.
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting principles, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Knowledge of taxation laws and regulations, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes.
- Experience with financial software, including accounting and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
