Frontend Intern

About the Role

As a Frontend Intern at FinacPlus, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides mortgage back-office services and software product development to Toorak Capital Partners. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in developing and maintaining web applications using React.js, HTML, and CSS under the guidance of senior engineers.

This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the field of frontend development. You will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop your skills in modern front-end tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using React.js, HTML, and CSS.
• Collaborate with UX designers to implement and refine UI prototypes with attention to usability.
• Write clean, readable, and well-documented code, and learn to give/receive code review feedback.
• Participate in stand-ups and sprint planning with cross-functional teams (design, backend, QA).
• Debug and fix front-end issues, and help improve existing components.
• Take ownership of assigned features and bug fixes from requirement understanding through implementation, testing, and delivery.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's / master's in computer science/computer engineering.
• Strong core JavaScript fundamentals and asynchronous JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with React.js, including component-based architecture and state management (hooks, Context, Redux).
• Working knowledge of React Query for data fetching and caching.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) as applied to JavaScript/front-end projects.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control.
• Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP methods (GET/POST/PUT/DELETE) with associated status codes.
• Basic knowledge of MongoDB (CRUD operations, document structure).
• Proficiency with browser dev tools for debugging (console, network tab, breakpoints).
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
• Good communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.
