About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer I at Expedia Group, you'll be part of a dynamic team that builds and maintains the technology powering our global B2B partner ecosystem. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with experienced engineers to develop and test software applications, programs, and procedures, ensuring they meet design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to co-develop solutions and solve technical challenges on complex projects.
• Develop and test software applications, programs, and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.
• Apply software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals to write clean, maintainable, modular, and optimized code.
• Support the integration of systems and technologies, understanding the features and processes involved.
• Proactively build relationships with peers across the organization to collaborate and solve problems.
• Seek knowledge from subject matter experts and pursue opportunities to develop technical expertise in a specific engineering area.
• Support the implementation of holistic solutions that connect structure, people, process, and technology.

Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months-2 years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience building at least 3 software projects independently.
• Proficiency in Java or Scala.
• Understanding of data patterns and storage concepts.
• Familiarity with software development theory and design principles.
• Basic understanding of testing, monitoring, and debugging practices.
• Understanding of how team goals align with broader business needs.
