About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer I at Expedia Group, you will be a key contributor to the development of technology that powers our global B2B partner ecosystem. You will work alongside experienced engineers to build and maintain software applications, programs, and procedures that meet design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to co-develop solutions and solve technical challenges on complex projects.
• Develop and test software applications, programs, and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.
• Apply software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, modular, and optimized.
• Support the integration of systems and technologies, understanding the features and processes involved.
• Proactively build relationships with peers across the organization to collaborate and solve problems.
• Seek knowledge from subject matter experts and pursue opportunities to develop technical expertise in a specific engineering area.

Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months–2 years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience building at least 3 software projects independently.
• Proficiency in Java or Scala.
• Understanding of data patterns and storage concepts.
• Familiarity with software development theory and design principles.
• Basic understanding of testing, monitoring, and debugging practices.
• Understanding of how team goals align with broader business needs.
