Financial Accountant - Australian Accounting

About the Role

This Financial Accountant role at DCK ASSOCIATES involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and other financial reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards. You will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to stakeholders. Your analytical skills will be essential in identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
• Conduct reconciliations of accounts, including bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
• Develop and maintain general ledger accounts, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other financial reports as required.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve financial discrepancies, including variances in financial statements and account reconciliations.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in Australian accounting standards and tax laws.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software, including Xero or MYOB.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards, including Australian GAAP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Basic understanding of tax concepts and tax laws in Australia.
