Cloud Engineer

About the Role

As a Cloud Engineer at Cognizant Softvision, you will be responsible for administering and optimizing VMware technologies to improve performance and infrastructure reliability. This includes utilizing advanced VMware features, troubleshooting backup issues, and performing VM disk resizing and CPU/memory upgrades to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX-T, and HCX.
• Utilize advanced VMware features, such as vMotion, Storage vMotion, HA, FT, and DRS.
• Troubleshoot backup issues and perform VM disk resizing, CPU/memory upgrades, and other configurations to meet client needs.
• Lead successful cloud migration initiatives with VMware HCX, transitioning client workloads from on-premises to Google Cloud.
• Configure and manage NSX-T, ensuring robust and scalable network functionality.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on incidents, driving continuous improvements in system reliability and minimizing recurrence.
• Support day-to-day operations, including ESXi NR issues, vCenter resizing, syslog configuration, password resets, storage volume mounting, and log analysis using Kibana.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX-T, and HCX.
• Knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with advanced VMware features, such as vMotion, Storage vMotion, HA, FT, and DRS.
• Ability to troubleshoot backup issues and perform VM disk resizing, CPU/memory upgrades, and other configurations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on incidents.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Relevant certifications, such as VCP or VCAP.
