Software Engineer

About the Role

This Software Engineer position at Cisco involves collaborating with a team to establish relationships and work on small-to-medium features from technical design through completion. You will apply your understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile engineering practices to drive project success. As a key member of the team, you will participate in delivery of technical design features and contribute to code reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to establish relationships and work on small-to-medium features from technical design through completion.
• Apply understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile engineering practices to drive project success.
• Participate in delivery of technical design features with guidance from experienced team members.
• Write functional clean code, unit tests, and E2E tests with some guidance.
• Assist in code reviews and address code review feedback.
• Monitor and triage incident reports and participate in postmortems and potential on-call duties.
• Estimate time to complete assignments and communicate status, blockers, and delays to the team.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of related experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 0 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of development theories, principles, and concepts.
• Experience with current technologies through coursework or internship.
• Proficiency in Javascript/Typescript, React, Angular, or other similar technologies.
• Experience developing using backend languages such as Go, Ruby on Rails, or Node.js.
