Deputy Finance Controller

About the Role

The Deputy Finance Controller will be responsible for assisting the Finance Controller in managing the financial operations of Chandigarh University. This includes overseeing the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and maintaining internal controls.

As a key member of the finance team, the Deputy Finance Controller will play a crucial role in shaping the university's financial strategy and making informed decisions to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including tax returns and other regulatory filings.
• Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
• Collaborate with the finance team to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Provide analytical support to the finance team to inform business decisions.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial processes.
• Communicate financial information to stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors.

Skills & Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) certification.

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field.
