About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity for a fresher to join the Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) team at American Express TRS and contribute to the protection of the company, its customers, and its brand. As an Apprentice, you will gain exposure to how analytics, technology, and product thinking come together to solve business problems and enable growth.

You will have the chance to work on various projects across multiple focus areas within Credit & Fraud Risk, including Data Stewardship, Strategy & Analytics, and Product. This will give you a comprehensive understanding of the company's risk management capabilities and how they impact business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to how Credit & Fraud Risk teams support business growth, customer experience, and risk management decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support product enhancements, business initiatives, and innovation opportunities.
• Participate in activities across the product lifecycle, including discovery, testing, implementation, and performance monitoring.
• Support analytical and reporting activities to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
• Work with data and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Gain exposure to data governance, data quality, and process improvement practices.

• Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), automation tools/techniques (RPA, ETL tools, Machine Learning etc.), data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.) is preferred.
• Understanding of financial services, fraud risk, credit risk, or compliance concepts is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or other relevant quantitative disciplines.
