Research Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Research Software Engineer at Algo University, you will spend your days working on cutting-edge graph-based systems, designing and implementing efficient algorithmic solutions, and collaborating with engineering and AI teams to integrate algorithms into production systems.

With a focus on developing and applying problem-solving techniques, you will work on complex computational problems, build and evaluate algorithmic models, and contribute to the development of Neuro-Symbolic AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient algorithmic solutions for complex computational problems.
• Analyse and optimise algorithms for performance, scalability, and memory usage using Big-O analysis.
• Apply problem-solving techniques such as greedy algorithms, recursion, and dynamic programming.
• Develop and work with core data structures including linked lists, stacks, queues, and hash tables.
• Build and evaluate algorithmic models using datasets (e.g., via Kaggle or similar platforms).
• Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to integrate algorithms into production systems.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python programming language.
• Experience with Kaggle or similar platforms for building and evaluating algorithmic models.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of discrete mathematics, combinatorics, and graph theory.
• Ability to work with core data structures including linked lists, stacks, queues, and hash tables.
• Knowledge of problem-solving techniques such as greedy algorithms, recursion, and dynamic programming.
