About the Role
As a medical coder in the bioinformatics and biochemistry domain, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the integrity of medical records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that patient information is accurately coded and documented.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign accurate and consistent medical codes to patient data using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
- Review and analyze medical records to identify coding errors and inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate coding and documentation of patient information.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding regulations and guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
